Some of the reasons we chose the ingredients we did:
Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla): soothes irritated skin tissue and aides in healing and repairing damaged skin. Contains antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic properties.
Calendula (Calendula officinalis): gentle, skin soothing, regenerative qualities to promote fast healing and regenerate new cells. Contains antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic properties.
Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis L): full of antioxidants, rosemary also has anti-inflammatory properties to help reduce swelling of irritated tissue along with antibacterial and antifungal properties, making it a great herb for treating wounds and skin infections.
Cocoa, Mango, & Shea butters: Cocoa butter is high in antioxidants called polyphenols, and protects, moisturizes the skin while addressing dry skin and rash. Mango butter contains triterpenes, which are plant compounds that have anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antimicrobial properties, and helps promote skin repair and provide a protective moisture barrier. Shea butter has vitamin A and E, as antioxidants, and has anti-inflammatory properties. It helps ease irritation and relieve dry skin while promoting skin repair and a protective moisture barrier.
Jojoba & Castor oils: Jojoba oil has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties and is full of vitamin E and other essential vitamins and minerals. It can also help soothe irritated skin. A small amount of Castor oil is used, which has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antimicrobial and moisturizing properties and may help with the healing of wounds.
Beeswax & Carnauba wax: Both serve as protective moisture barriers, helping to lock in moisture. Beeswax has antiseptic properties, which may help protect the skin from pathogenic microorganisms and contains vitamin A which helps speed regeneration of damaged skin.
