You’ve seen them on the shelves in health food stores, or online…but just what are they?
Join us in learning about and crafting herbal Glycerites, Oxymels, and Elixirs. What are they, how do you make them, and when you might choose one over the other. These have a long shelf life, making them important methods for keeping remedies on hand for use when needed.
Our Herbal Med Apothecary will be open after workshop. Peruse over 160 organic bulk herbs and over 60 organic herbal products and various accessories.
This class will fill up quickly, so if you are truly interested, register early.

While they are all “extracts” only those using alcohol as the solvent are “tinctures. Tinctures are concentrated herbal extracts that use ethyl alcohol as the solvent, also known as “hydroalcoholic” extractions. Alcohol is used to extract the constituents from the herbs and is also a preservative.
Come learn and hand craft your own herbal tincture. There are different methods of preparing herbal tinctures. You’ll learn the folk method, as well as the percolation method.
Enjoy an organic lunch was well!

There’s nothing quite like reaching in your medicine cabinet and choosing from a variety of topical salves that you made!
Here you will learn the basics of herbal topical salve making & potent infused herbal oils, with Su Lukasha. We will discuss and choose which herbs to include in your salve and oil, depending on the purpose for them, learn how to make them stay fresh longer, and explore the use of essential oils in salves.
Confused about what salve, oil, poultice, or liniment you might use for what? You’re not alone. During this workshop we’ll discuss herbal topicals, when you would choose to use them, and how.
